STUDY CONFIRMS THE NEGATIVE CARBON FOOTPRINT
OF AMORIM´S NEUTROCORK®
At a time when protecting the environment is more important than ever, consumers are more in favor of natural cork than ever before. Their unique sustainability features combined with product safety are key selection criteria that convince.
To prove the sustainable performance of the Neutrocork®, Amorim & Irmãos commissioned a study from PricewaterhouseCoopers * in 2018.
Among the most important results of the study is the fact that the Neutro® cork has a clearly positive overall footprint **.
Looking additionally at the carbon sequestration in the cork oak forest, the results fall to a total of -73,342kg CO2 per ton of product, this means -392 g CO2 per cork are still much more positive.
These outstanding values even make it possible to neutralize the CO2 emissions associated with the production of glass bottles - an important competitive advantage for our customers.
The Neutrocork® belongs to a new product generation of microgranulate corks. Produced in a single production and produced exclusively with the cork granules cleaned by the ROSA® process, it convinces with its technical and optical homogeneity. An optimal closure solution for wines with medium rotation time.
